Sri Somasundara Swamigal
Shri La Somasundara Sivachariyar was born on March 9, 1967, to Mr. Sambasivam and Mrs. Girugujambal in Thirukurakaval, Mayiladuthurai District. After completing his childhood schooling, he decided to attend a Vedic school. He underwent three years of training under TS Samantham at Cuddalore OT. During this time, He realized that in this world, the five elements possess a power beyond all other powers.
While his teacher was introducing him to the Vedas, he had the opportunity to serve at Samayapuram Mariamman Temple for three years. There, he witnessed people expressing their devotion by carrying fire and piercing tridents across their bodies. It was at this time that he realized the existence of a powerful force beyond human perception. With this notion in mind, he met many scholars and eventually arrived at Guruvayurappan Temple in Guruvayur, where he met his mentor, Shri Narayana Namboothiri. His mentor enlightened him on Dasa Maha Vidya Upasana over three years, where he came to understand that “the Vedas are fond of people, people are fond of good deeds, and good deeds are fond of the world’s promise. The world’s promise, in turn, understands the supreme God’s presence through the Vedas, providing solutions to all diseases.”
The Goddess Devi Sri Dasa Maha Vidya is represented by the Sun as Kali Devi, the Moon as Tara Devi, Mars as Bhuvaneshwari Devi, Mercury as Rajamathangi, Jupiter as Tripurasundari, Saturn as Chinnamasta, Venus as Kamalatmika, Uranus as Dhumavati, and Neptune as Bagalamukhi, harmonized as Navagrahas..
